The Reserve Bank of India will revamp its board and induct GMR Group chairman GM Rao, the founder of the Self Employed Women's Association(a/k/a SEWA), former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, Anil Kakodkar, former Nasscom chairman Kiran Karnik, besides prominent economists and academicians.
With some of the existing board members like YH Malegam, Suresh Neotia, A Vaidyanathan, Man Mohan Sharma and Sanjay Labroo completing their tenure, RBI will appoint Indira Rajaraman, who is professor emeritus at the National Institute for Public Finance and Policy, Delhi, and Dipankar Gupta, professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, to the board.
